A lady from the stake called Danny to ask us if we would dance our Mexican Polka at the stake daddy/daughter activity and then teach line dancing, don't ask me how una polka y country line dancing correlate. But Danny asked me if I was up to it, because I would end up being the one teaching and I said yes. With the little knowledge i have of line dancing other than the electric side, I got onto you tube and fished out some easy steps to dance to Cotton eye joe and the Boot scootin boogie. It was actually really fun, it reminded me of when I went to an activity like that with my dad.
I am so thankful for all the talents that Heavenly Father has given both Danny and I. We are able to use them to serve within our rama and stake where it is much needed. I have been asked by all the hermanas in the branch to teach them Tango y otros bailes mas. It's been fun! The stake is also doing a Road Show (something I've never heard stakes doing) and they asked Danny and I to be on the committee and in charge of the dancing/choreography. We are going to help out but the performance is on the weekend of graduation so we wont be able to see the final show.
I didn't know this little girl but Danny was saying she was into the dancing the whole time!
So this last weekend Danny and I decided to head out to UT. He was on a break from school and I don't work Thursdays or Fridays, unless I pick up a Substitute job. Anyway, it was so nice to go back home and see family. We were able to go to the Living Legends show and reception. It was great to see all our friends and celebrate Janielle and John's 20 years with the group. Danny was able to do some writing with Dr. Terry and he got a copy of the book that they had an article published in, anyway it was a nice trip and I can't wait to go again in April for graduation!!!!! On the monday we got back we had the opportunity to go see El Ballet folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez. They were performing at UCD. all and all it was a good show, our favorites were Veracruz, baile del Venado, y Jalisco (i like L.L dresses better) and Danny really liked Guerrero. The dancing was really good but I loved how they had live musica for Verzcruz and a Mariachi, que impresionante!!! I took some pictures and on one of them the flash went off..accidentally and Danny gave me a mean stink eye. opppsss but at least I got some pictures.
The book Danny's article is published in
Veracruz
Baile del Venado
Mariachi
Jalisco
So Danny heard a commercial of Taco Bell's new Shrimp tacos
I had bought some raw shrimp, so I told him we can make it at home instead of going out
This is the "Taco Bair" version of the shrimp taco!
