Road Trip and then some!

Getting in touch with our country side!!!!!!
A lady from the stake called Danny to ask us if we would dance our Mexican Polka at the stake daddy/daughter activity and then teach line dancing, don't ask me how una polka y country line dancing correlate.  But Danny asked me if I was up to it, because I would end up being the one teaching and I said yes.  With the little knowledge i have of line dancing other than the electric side, I got onto you tube and fished out some easy steps to dance to Cotton eye joe and the Boot scootin boogie.  It was actually really fun, it reminded me of when I went to an activity like that with my dad.
I am so thankful for all the talents that Heavenly Father has given both Danny and I.  We are able to use them to serve within our rama and stake where it is much needed.  I have been asked by all the hermanas in the branch to teach them Tango y otros bailes mas.  It's been fun! The stake is also doing a Road Show (something I've never heard stakes doing) and they asked Danny and I to be on the committee and in charge of the dancing/choreography.  We are going to help out but the performance is on the weekend of graduation so we wont be able to see the final show.

I didn't know this little girl but Danny was saying she was into the dancing the whole time!

So this last weekend Danny and I decided to head out to UT.  He was on a break from school and I don't work Thursdays or Fridays, unless I pick up a Substitute job.  Anyway, it was so nice to go back home and see family.  We were able to go to the Living Legends show and reception.  It was great to see all our friends and celebrate Janielle and John's 20 years with the group.  Danny was able to do some writing with Dr. Terry and he got a copy of the book that they had an article published in, anyway it was a nice trip and I can't wait to go again in April for graduation!!!!!  On the monday we got back we had the opportunity to go see El Ballet folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez.  They were performing at UCD.  all and all it was a good show, our favorites were Veracruz, baile del Venado, y Jalisco (i like L.L dresses better) and Danny really liked Guerrero.  The dancing was really good but I loved how they had live musica for Verzcruz and a Mariachi, que impresionante!!! I took some pictures and on one of them the flash went off..accidentally and Danny gave me a mean stink eye. opppsss but at least I got some pictures.
The book Danny's article is published in

Veracruz
Baile del Venado
Mariachi
Jalisco

So Danny heard a commercial of Taco Bell's new Shrimp tacos
I had bought some raw shrimp, so I told him we can make it at home instead of going out
This is the "Taco Bair" version of the shrimp taco!

Atrasada!

So I am a little behind on my post.  I will do a quick re-cap on what has happened the last month.
For Valentines, we celebrated it a little on Saturday by going to our stake "Sweet Hearts" dance, we were asked to dance as part of the entertainment, so we decided to dance Polka de Mexico.  For Danny to get into full character when we danced he decided to leave a 3 day grown out mustache, all I have to say to that is ORALE!!!   Then on Monday we spent quality time doing flips onto the love sac (videos below) then we went on a bike ride (the weather was beautiful), played soccer then I cooked a yummy dinner while Danny studied for a test, it ended up being a relaxing night.  When it comes to gifts Im not that hard to shop for because I'm pretty vocal on what I want or like, so I gave Danny many hints that I wanted the thin type of straightener that straighten and curls the hair and that is what I got. So I was happy, Im still trying to figure out how to do my hair like they do in the salons, I got Danny 2 movies that he likes, Wolverine and Traitor and some German gummy bears (because it was after our Germany tour that we were "official").
Before we left to the party
Packing our vestuario
ORALE!
Milanesas Argentinas con pure y ensalada
Danny found a new place to save his gum
We got an amazing deal on beef, 10lbs for $10
We love meat!

I am currently a working wife!  I finally got a job, I work as a receptionist at an Eye Doctors office part time and then I will sub for Special ed instructional aide the days I don't work.  The first couple days at the office were rough, but I feel more comfortable with the work and more welcomed into the office.  I am still trying to look for a teaching job full time, but who knows when one of those will come up, the education budget is getting cut here in SAC, they are cutting a lot of jobs, and there are many angry teachers and students.  Just the other day I was watching the news and it said that UC's students were going on strike and protesting of the higher tuition fees,  now I understand their frustration but some of the stuff they were doing was not that smart!  A group of them were trying to walk onto the I-80 the police had to come and stop them, then they blocked a big intersection north of the campus kind of were Dannys building is located, so I called him to see if he was okay or had heard all the commotion outside.  oh the joys of living in a LIBERAL town.  From what I hear the education system in Davis is one of the best, but there are certain festivals and holidays that are quite unique to this area some of them are; Davis Duck days, Earth day (an excuse to go HIPPY and smoke the MJ and get drunk) Picnic day- which I hear is family oriented but still another excuse to drink, it's funny cause around here they really don't need an excuse to drink!  OH THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE UTAH!!!!
We also found a dancing group in the SAC area, so last Monday we went and sat in on their rehearsal, the group focuses all on Mexican dancing and they are good, some clean and different stepping from what I have seen. We'd like to join,  but we need to see if it is in our budget, they were really nice and welcoming.  We watched them dance at an educational fair and they did dances from Chiapas and Jalisco.  Once i figure out how to upload videos I will upload them dancing La Negra!
