Much has happened since my last post. Well, Elia keeps growing so fast. She had her 9 month check up last month and is in 35% for weight and 75% for height. Elia continues to surprise me with the new things she learns or manages to climb onto. She loves to mimic people, she waves hi and bye and at times will say it, she likes to pull the covers over her head and play donde-esta-bebe (peek-a-boo), she started to crawl around 8 1/2 months and is now unstoppable and she talks so much that Noelani (her cousin) and her like to take the phones away from us moms (my sister and me) so they can talk to each other.
We spent Thanksgiving out in Utah. I flew out a couple day's early to be able to spend more time with my family because we decided to leave a day early from Utah to make it to our nieces baby blessing in Vegas. I love the Holiday's and being able to spend time with family. Most of all I loved observing the two primas together. Lani and Elia became best friends by the 2nd day I was there. We got to see the new Provo Beach Resort in the Riverwoods mall and boy did we have fun. Thursday we ate Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's. Friday night we went to visit Danny's grandma and on our way home we stopped by Temple square and oh how I miss seeing those lights during the Holiday's.

This past weekend my brother came to visit for a couple days. He has been wanting to go see Cirque du Soleil- Totem for a while now. They are touring and are currently in San Fran. Danny's Friend Luis and his family decided to come visit us last minute so on Saturday we all traveled to San Fran. Danny, Elia, Luis and his family walked around Pier 39 while Malcolm and I had quite the adventure figuring out S.F transportation/metro/bus system. After taking two different trains and running across a couple bridges, we finally got to the parking lot where the tents were set up 10 minutes into the show. Words can't express how INCREDIBLE the show was, I felt like a little kid at the circus. I was in awe, with the ability these performers had to manipulate their bodies, their strength and flexibility, the costumes, make-up, and live music. I don't think I have seen so many 6 packs on so many people in one room like I did that day, can you say "Eye Candy!" Anyway, all in all the show was phenomenal. Having an appreciation for the performing arts and a little knowledge of what it takes to put on a show, oh boy, they surpassed my expectations (not that my expectation means much)... As my sister would say "I am no longer a Cique Du Soleil virgin" I have now become a groupie. I would pay money to watch another show in a heart beat, it is worth every penny! I loved watching the hoop dancer too, although he only made one world, unlike Living Legends who makes two... ji ji

I think Danny and I were more excited about Halloween for Elia then she was... obviously! But we had fun. We went to a pumpkin patch for the first time, our ward party, trick or treating with cousins and then to Danny's Halloween soccer game! Elia had an eventful weekend and was the cutest Strawberry ever!
I am super excited for this Fall/Holidays... Having a baby makes it that much more exciting! Thanks to a UC Davis Alumni in our stake that Danny happen to meet at one of our leadership meetings we were able to attend our first UC Davis football game. Our seats were 7 rows up from the field, which gave us a great view- but their field/stadium is nothing compared to BYU's... it is more like a high school football field with a small section for the student fans the alumni/parent section, then people just sat on the grass. We had fun cheering on the Aggies although we lost by 2 points. Elia got a lot of attention from the people around us and she even got a picture with the mascot and Danny! UC Davis's colors are blue and gold but we ignore the gold and stay TRUE to the BLUE!
I have started to tutor again. So twice a week we go to Davis with Danny. On one of our trips out there we got to spend a beautiful day at the park next to our old apartment complex.

For some reason she fall's asleep better that way- but only with Daddy
where I need to face the fact that I'm getting old! Yes, I am now 27, it just means I am closer to 30 now.. Kind of crazy to think about... I catch myself thinking about the single/dating days, where responsibility was minimal, where I had the energy to go dancing, and where I didn't have to watch what I ate (as much). But then I think about the things I've accomplished, the positive and negative experiences I had, the people I've met...(aka Danny-thank you Living Legends ji ji) the smiles and tears shared, my family, my husband and beautiful baby and the blessing/gift it is to be a mother... and I wouldn't take it back for anything... and I think to myself- I am a very lucky girl!!! So although I'm just going to be getting older from here on out--I love my life. My birthday was pretty busy. In the morning we had some repair guy check out our heater, then I drove into Davis went to the DMV to apply for a CA license (since my UT one expired, I had some withdrawls) and had to take the written test, after that I picked up the baby who was at school with Danny and I went to tutor for 1 hour. Danny then took me to get a mani/pedicure and then we went out to eat at BJ's. It was a great birthday! Thanks to everyone who made it special!
Elia's Sunday/Conference outfit- I love the leggings
Elia turned 7 months on the 21st of this month and since she doesn't have her next Dr. appt. till November, I thought I'd post a little something about her new discoveries.
- Her cry has changed from a cute whimper to a "they are killing me scream"- there used to be some what of a progression but not anymore, and she wines now.
- She notices when I leave the room or walk away from her and she will either start crying or wine until distracted.
-She sits up on her own. She started this around 6 1/2 months but I still put the boppy close by because when she wants to reach for a toy she will just topple over, roll onto her tummy then start her journey to reach her toy that is out of her immediate grasp.
-She likes patting everything, the floor, arms, face, toys etc.
-Eating is one of her favorite things, for now. So far she has liked everything I've given her. She also hum's between bites or will stick her thumb in her mouth if I'm not fast enough. (and boy does her poop stink)
-She is quite the talker and uses her hands to tell her story.
-She gets bored of her toys, so I'm starting to entertain her with plastic water bottles, wooden spoons etc. she is more into the basic, simple toys I guess.
- She is a little angel during church, but she does like to talk during Sacrament meeting or during the lesson in Y.W.
-She is my little Zumberita. She loves coming to zumba with me (until Danny comes to get her). She loves the music and is so observant of all our moves!!

In August Danny decided that he wanted to take professional family pictures before Elia started getting teeth. Janessa (Danny's cousin) is a faithful customer at JC Penny's portrait studio, so we asked her some questions and she suggested to get the membership, which was only $20 and it covers all the sitting fee's for 2 years. So pretty much when we visit family in L.A or UT we can take as many people as we want for a shoot and only pay for the prints we want (which I only buy with a coupon). Anyway, we decided to do it which I am glad we did because we never really have pictures of all 3 of us together. After we got our family pictures back I decided to do another shoot with just Elia and give it to Danny for his birthday- I can't tell you how much he LOVES looking at pictures of her. He will get onto my facebook (which I guess is OUR fb now) just to look at the pictures I post of Elia. The photo shoot had a theme... "Proud to be......" American, Argentine and Mexican! So I had her wearing something from each country. My brother recently came back from Argentine and bought Elia and baby soccer jersey, then Abuelita Elia bought her a cute 4th of July top that says "America's sweetheart" but we didn't have a Mexican baby jersey for her yet so I decided to use mine on her... and this is how they turned out...
