Digna hija de su madre (Like mother, Like daughter)

While I was cleaning up the house getting ready for when family comes for Elia's blessing, I came across one of my boxes with all my picture albums and found.........

For those who don't know this is what my family would call a classic "Anna" picture.  This is when my sister and I were little and lived in Hawaii (don't ask me why my mom dressed me in blue, I know, it makes me look like a boy)
Now let me tell you why it's a classic "Anna" picture, 1- My crying was more like SCREAMING, so they say. My family claims it was so bad at times that it was piercing to the ear- but at least I have a good set of lungs!  2- I don't like people touching my face. Now that mania, I'm sure developed as I got older, so I really don't know why I was crying, but the picture says it all.

Once I found the picture of my sister and me, I remembered of a picture we took of Elia Noemi and Noelani (my sisters daughter) when they were visiting, that surprising depicts some similarities.  Here it is.....

Yes, that is my daughter screaming on the left and on the right, my cute niece with her innocent look. Elia's face tells it all... she sure doesn't have a cute little wimmper cry like some babies..... Anyway, maybe my baby has more of me in her then I thought (but I don't know if this particular trait is a good one to be too proud of!)

Elia's 2 months

Elia had her 2 month appointment last Friday where she had to get her shots.  Danny came with us because I wasn't sure how well I'd be able to handle the whole shots thing.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, I didn't even cry, I think I cried more when they drew blood for a Bilirrubina test when she was just a couple days old.  Anyway, she handled it like a champ, of course she was screaming the minute she was poked but once I picked her up and held her she calmed down.  I fed her right after and then she fell asleep and stayed asleep most of the day until I had to change or feed her.  But here is an updated on how she's growing:

Head- 67%
Weight-10lbs 5oz- 33%
Height-24in- 88%

I know these percentiles are more for tracking progress then anything and they can change from appointment to appointment, but I am quite happy about her height, if she stays in the 80% or higher then maybe she actually has some of me in her!!!
                                                                  After her shots

Some of the things she been doing the last month or so.....

She has her morning poop-time pretty much scheduled down to the hour and makes the cutest faces when in her "moment"
She loves to be standing
She wiggles A LOT and is super alerta  (but she pretty much came out of the womb that way)
She's a really light sleeper now, (I didn't think so at first but she seems to sleep longer when she's being held or feels warmth of a person verses when I lay her on the bed or in her napper)
She coo's and likes to talk
Get's super quiet and calm when I turn on music
Loves white noise and the sound/feel of a car ride
Doesn't take a chupete
Has found her hand to suck on and goes cross eyed when looking at it.
She LOVES bath time
Smiles
Blows bubbles
She sleeps through the night waking up once to be fed

It is crazy how fast she is growing and changing.  Everyone tells me to gozar de esta etapa de su vida, porque se va rapidisimo, and it's really true, she is growing too fast.

So for Easter I did an in home photo shoot of Elia in her Easter dress that Abuela Alicia gave her a couple other outfit so that I could use those pictures to make a collage of her from when she was born to now for Danny's Easter present.  We celebrated Easter by having the wonderful opportunity to give talks in our branch then we spent time with our neighbor and their grandkids (our family) Elia had her first Easter egg hunt with alittle bit of help from dad she found a couple eggs and we ate yummy food.

Really, has it been a month already?

My beautiful baby is already 6 weeks. Goodness, how time flies.  She is already looking so big to me and loosing her newborn look.  Like I said in my last post, we moved into a house in Racho Cordova which is right next to Danny's Uncle's house, so we are neighbors with family, which is fun.  After our crazy week and we got everything into the house, I felt a lot more clam and stable.  One of the first things we set up when we brought our stuff over was our bed and the baby's play-yard so then I could sleep, everything else was scattered between the garage, and rooms but I was lucky to have my mom and suegros there to help organize.  Since Elia came 1 week early my mom ended up changing her flight and got here a couple hours after she was born and stayed for 2 weeks.  She was a huge help through our crazy week and with settling in to the house.  After my mom, my sister and her baby came for about 1 1/2 weeks but during the time my sister was here my dad was out in San Fran for a work conference and once that was over he also came to spend time with us for about 4 days.  (At times I think it was too much of my family for Danny, but over all he admitted he was thankful that they were here to help me with the baby and house so then he could focus on school, because UCDavis so not give paternity leave) Then for a weekend Danny's parents came up to visit and my suegra helped a lot with the baby while Danny and his dad did stuff around the house.  It was a lot of fun to have family come visit and meet Elia.  They all were such a big help during that time of adjusting.  We are so thankful for all that they've done and still do, we feel very blessed.
