Thanksgiving

Wow, I am really not good at keeping up with our blog.  Sorry to the faith few who check our blog once in awhile.  So for Thanksgiving Danny and I went down to L.A to spend time with his parents and on Thanksgiving day we woke up early to drive to Vegas to have Thanksgiving dinner with my sister in-law and her family.  It was a much needed getaway and it was nice to spend time with family.  For the first time ever I think Danny and I got more than half of our Christmas shopping done on Black Friday.  We also decided to finally use our free Disneyland tickets that we got for volunteering for a day, so we went with our friends Luis and Miriam to Disneyland.  I wasn't sure how long I'd last walking and standing in lines, but I'd have to say I was quite a trooper, although Danny might say I complained every once in awhile.  I have never been to Disneyland during the Thanksgiving/Christmas season and I absolutely loved it.  The castle was decorated so pretty and It's a small world ride was very festive.On Sunday we went to Danny's old family ward and then left Sunday afternoon back to Sacramento.  A trip that normally takes us 5-6 hours this time took us 8-9 hours, I have never seen Holiday traffic so bad like on our way home.  All in all, we had a great time with family and friends and are so so thankful for all the blessings, love, support that we receive.  Now we are looking forward to Christmas!

Our little girl!

It has been a while since I've done an update on the baby. I've been so busy working more hours and by the time I get home I just want to relax, plus not having internet at our apt. doesn't help either.   
So here it is.  On October 25th we had our ultrasound, which I was some what nervous about.  For some reason I went to the appointment with the expectation that the Doctor would be able to tell right away if it is a girl or boy, and I was convinced that it was going to be a boy, plus Danny kept telling me that we most likely will have a girl, because according to him genetically the Bair men produce more girls then boys, so I wanted to prove him wrong.  Anyway, at the ultrasound the Dr. was not that personal, he meant business.  You can tell he was just there to measure the head, make sure the baby's heart, spine were healthy and that she has 10 toes and fingers, and that is exactly what he did.  He had a hard time getting a clear view on if it was a girl or boy.  The baby was shy and had it's legs closed the whole time.  By the end of the appointment he said "I'm 95% sure it's a girl.  Then he gave us the pictures, which to me I couldn't tell her head from her pompis.  Danny was thrilled to has his little girl, don't get me wrong I was too, but I was a little bothered with how they whole appointment went and that we didn't have a good profile picture of the baby.  At work, I told my co-workers of my experience and they told me about getting 3D pictures, I was hesitant at first because it's kinda of freaky looking plus it would cost us money.  I talked to Danny about it and did my research of all the places that do it in our area and I found a place that was inexpensive and gave me the most for our money.  So on November 13 we went and got our 2d, 3d pictures and DVD of the whole ultrasound.  At first Danny didn't like the pictures too much, but I think they grew on him cause he will pull them out to look at her once in awhile, it's cute.  Time really flies by, I can't believe I'm half way already, it sure doesn't feel like it.

Loca, Loca, Loca

Through out the month of September and October Danny and I heard commercials on the Spanish radio station about Shakira coming to Sacramento Arco Arena. We didn't think much of it until on morning Danny asked if I'd really like to go, having been a fan (but not too die hard) of hers from the beginning I told him I wouldn't mind going if the tickets weren't too expensive.  So on October 19th we went to her concert.  We invited another young couple from our branch, but the husband backed out last minute so his wife and another friend from the branch came.  Shakira was amazing, a good entertainer and we all know she sure knows how to dance, it was fun to see in person that her hips really DON'T lie!  The one downer was every time she sang in English, I absolutely couldn't understand her, I like her songs better in Spanish anyway.  Some of our favorites that she performed was She wolf, Tortura, Gypsy, some old school songs, hips don't lie, loca and of course she did her big finale with WAKA, WAKA!  We didn't take too many pictures or video because for her concert cameras were not allowed and us being the honest people we are took our cameras back to the car, although we totally could have sneaked in with them. oh well! It was so much fun, the baby was moving like crazy during the upbeat songs.  It was a fun night full of dancing, loud music and great entertainment.

The Big 26

I can't believe I'm 26 and mi bebe 20 weeks already. Well I had a great birthday, it is actually the first birthday that Danny and I were together for since we have been married.  Last year he was in CA and I was in UT for my birthday but a couple weeks later I went out to visit him, so this year was extra special.  The day was quite eventful, I worked, then we went to a Doctors apt later in the day then we decided to go out to eat. We didn't do much that day since it was the beginning of the week, so Danny informed me that he had a surprise for me on Friday.  I was really excited because I like surprises!  But of course we were running late cause Danny got done at school later then he would have liked so we had to rush driving there.  Then Danny dropped me off to pick up our tickets at will-call while he parked, but then he couldn't find any parking and ended up parking on a  the street, finally he got to the theater 3 minutes before the show started.  The best part was after the show we walked around in circles between two streets that had a grip of clubs and crazy people outside looking for the car because he forgot where he parked it but we finally found it!

For the most part the dancing was amazing, but I don't know if I could say the same for some of the costumes which they probably ended up buying at Victoria Secret.  I really enjoyed the live music and  special guest singer, we also saw a couple people from so you think you can dance.  I would have to say their Tango was okay, but I have my opinion on ballroom Tango! All in all we really liked it!  I have the best husband ever!!

Fall is in the air

The last two weeks of September I didn't have to work because the Doctor went on vacation and since I'm only part time my hours get cut, luck me!  So my wonderful husband suggested that I go to Utah for a bit and spend time with family and Jessica.  So off I went on the train, straight from Davis to Provo, a long 17 hour ride.  It really wasn't that bad, the seats are a lot more comfortable then airplane seats, but being pregnant  my legs started cramping a bit and the food was not to my liking at all.  When we passed through the Sierras the scenery was beautiful.  I arrived in Provo at 5 am.  I stayed for about a week and a half.  I spent it mostly with my sister and niece who I missed so much, and now that I'm pregnant we have a lot more to talk about.  I spent a day with Jessica and her two beautiful kids, Bella is getting so big and is talking like a true Latina!  I was able to help my dad out with the preparations for Savior of the World in Spanish that will be going on in the Conference center theater in November, and of course had our girls day out with my mom, sister in law, sister and niece up shopping in Park City.  It was fun to be in Utah again to spend time with friends and family.  We celebrated my brothers, dad and my birthday because we are all pretty much one week apart.  I sure do miss Fall in Utah with all the leaves changing colors, I don't see much of that here in CA.  My mom insisted I fly back, which I'm glad I did, so I was able to stay a little long and also get home to Danny quicker, I wont lie, I was ready to see Danny and sleep in my own bed, I'm quite sensitive and emotional right now with this pregnancy and everything.  Now, I'm back to real life, working, keeping up the house and taking care of my husband.  I feel blessed to be here in Davis, although it's far from home and I appreciate Danny's determination to finish his PhD, cause at times he comes home super stressed cause I know it will bless us in the long run.

200 anos!

This year is the 200 anniversary of independence for Mexico, Chile and Argentina (in May).  I'm sure there are other countries but I dont know which ones for sure.  On Wednesday Danny and I went to Sacramento for "El Grito"  I was suppose to be at mutual with my Y.W but most of the youth wanted to go to Sacramento to celebrate Mexico so we ended up "canceling" mutual last minute so the kids could go with their families.  Danny and I got there a little late so we missed the dancing but we got there right in time for El Grito (not that we know it) but we enjoyed the Mariachi music, Danny loved the food, I on the other hand went the safe route and had my snow cone.  There were a bunch of people there, the capital building looked cool lit up with Mexican colors, but at the same time I found it very ironic.  We sat on the grass and enjoyed some music until they changed from Mariachi for Banda-Sinaloense music, which at times is bearable but I couldn't stand the guy that was singing with the band that was on stage.  That is when we decided to leave.  The baby sure enjoyed his/her first Mexican independence celebration!  On the following Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to speak at the adult session of our Stake Conference.  I for sure thought Danny was going to speak with me when hey asked me, but no, it was only me.  It was a good experience, I was asked to speak on temples and it was neat because the Sacramento Temple Pres and his wife were there.  This month is the 4 year anniversary since it had been dedicated so they have been encouraging the members to attend as much as possible.  All in all it was a good experience, it helped over come my fear of speaking infront of A LOT of people.... On a side note, we get to find out what the baby is going to be in  about 3 weeks and we are excited!  When we talk about the baby Danny naturally says "she" (I think cause his family pretty much produces girls so he is so used to it, plus we agree more on girl names then boys) and I always say "he" ( I just want an older brother for the rest of our kids) so I guess we will see!  Either way we will be happy!

Danny's cumple/Labor day/15 weeks

On September 6th it was Danny's birthday and my 15 weeks mark.  We had a pretty relaxed labor day.  We had a BBQ the saturday before with Roy/Gail Bair family, we ate some yummy food and then after the kids attempted to hit the pinata that I took to celebrate Danny's birthday.  The kids were very hesitant at first, I guess it was there first time they have ever hit one so they were kind of stand offish, until Taylin went crazy on it.... then they felt more comfortable breaking it and realized that in doing so the reward was falling candy.  On Monday Danny and I worked out in the morning (which was very much needed), went to the mall, ate at cheescake factory (which is his favorite desert) then finished the night with going to a movie, Inception.  We really enjoyed the movie, quite mind boggling.  Here are some pictures....

Baby Bair

We are happy to announce that our little bebe will be joining us some time in Feb or March, I guess it all depends on when he/she wants to come.  I took a test July 4th and to my surprise it came out positive.  Danny was in UT at the time so I took a picture of the test and sent it to him... He called back a couple mintues later, asking "so does that mean you're pregnant?".  We have been able to have two Ultrasounds, the 1st was just for fun, the baby was a tinny little kidney bean, the 2nd (the picture above) was to measure the baby and figure out my due date and from what the Dr.saw he said I am further along then what we had orginally thought.  So my due date is February 28th, 2011.  The first couple of months were a little rough.  I didn't feel like eating anything, I got a bad sinus cold, had to go to the bathroom ALOT, I was super, super tired, and a bit emotional and this baby is making me break out!   I decided to change my diet and eat more health food, like Quinoa, brown rice, lots of fruits/veggies and try to stay away from too much meat (which is hard for me). What made it worse was we were in Mexico for about a week and they have yummy spicy, meaty foods and their eating schedule was very different from what I was used to, so I splurged a bit while we were down there, I couldn't pass up authentic Mexican food.  So now that the baby has been exposed to it, he/she will either come out loving or hating Mexican food.  I guess we will see.  Now that I started my second trimester it has been alittle better.  Im not as tired and Im starting to crave things, still a little emotional (but according to Danny that's nothing new).  I have loved every step so far. There will be days when Danny comes home and will start talking to my stomach, it's cute, funny and random at the same time, I don't know if it's totally hit him yet.   My last visit with the midwife I had my full on physcial and was able to listen to the heart beat... what an amazing sound, it's like music to a mother's ears. I really like the clinic I have been going to and the midwife that sees me.  Here in Davis they have a nice set up, the birthing center is pretty much connected to the Sutter hospital because they really encourage natural births with tubs, showers and have a room that looks like a bedroom, so I have started to think about it but knowing me and how I can't stand anytime of stomach pain, I wont last too long before I ask for meds.  Anyway, we are super excited for the new addition to our family and I can't wait to find out what it is....... any bets on what it might be?

Mi Sobrinita

So while we were in New York my sister had her baby girl.  She was born July 9th at 11:45pm (that is Argentinas independence day so my mom and brother in-laws family were happy)  Noelani, is the first grandchild on my side of the family so we were all extatic when she came.  In my opinion I think she looks like my sister (Wilson side), with my brother inlaws dark hair and nose.  Danny and I were able to go to Utah for her blessing on August 8th.  I flew in a couple days early to spend more time with my sister and the family then Danny drove in Saturday morning before the blessing.  I had a lot of fun playing tia and help take care of Noelani while my sister and I ran errands together.  It's times like those when I miss being in Utah around family but it makes me more excited to go back and visit.
