I am sure most of you know (if you have FB) that we are having our baby #2 and on Sept, 6- which is Danny's birthday we found out that we are having a BOY! We were VERY surprised, we were both convinced it was going to be another girl (the Bair men produce girls easier than boys) but I did notice that I was carrying the baby different from when I was pregnant with Elia. Anyway, at first the Dr. had a hard time seeing because the baby had his knees together, so he attempted a different angle, and before telling us what it was he asked "so this is your 2nd?" we answered yes, then he asked if our 1st was a girl or boy and we told him a girl, then he told us "well it looks like you are going to have one of each, it's a boy!" I couldn't stop laughing, I looked over at Danny and said "wow, good job". We were in shock pretty much all day, Danny made a comment that he doesn't know how to be with a boy, so it will be fun, and I"ll have to admit, I'm kind of nervous too, I feel like I'm starting all over, obviously cause we have nothing for a boy, but Im sure it will be just as fun and special. So at first since we were going to find out on Danny's birthday was going to do the whole cake thing where they make the frosting the color of the gender, but we decided to find out and then later that night we invited friends over to eat cake and I came up with a fun game/ scavenger hunt for them to find out what we were having. There was team boy and team girl and they had find the clues I left around the house until they got to their last one that announced what we were having... it was a fun and exciting day for us...
I found out on Mothers day and left this note for Danny
After the Ultrasound-Elia slept through the whole thing-hence the not so happy face
Running through the house and outside following their clues
Team boy/those wearing blue Won
I have noticed some differences in the two pregnancy but they are not too major
1. although I felt nauseous with both during the 1st trimester this time around I felt it worse (but no vomiting thank goodness)
2. my stomach is poking out more with the boy then with Elia
3. No big difference with cravings, I craved salty and sweet with both. with Elia I wanted pickles or something of that flavor with this one it's chocolate, Oreos, nutella with strawberries
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the pregnancy and delivery go.... I've decided to give birth the same place I had Elia- a Birthing Center in Davis with a midwife but this time I want to try a water birth, instead of getting out of the water right before like I did with Elia... So I guess we will see how things turn out!
