Toward the end of October I took a trip out to Utah. Danny had to go out to Ohio for a conference, so my mom flew out to CA and helped me drive out to UT, so I didn't have to do the trip alone, pregnant and with a toddler. Danny then met us in Utah just in time to see Luz de las Naciones.
For the last 8-9 years my family has been involved in these Latin events that go on in the Conference Center, my dad has helped produce them, my brother was the artistic director this year, sister/brother inlaw choreographed an Argentina dance, my mom was director of choreographers. So as you can see my family was quite involved and busy with the preparations since back in June. So it was a busy week with rehearsals while I was there visiting, but it was still fun to be there with them. My sister was kind enough to throw me a baby shower, I was able to catch up and visit with some high school friends and once Danny got to Utah we went to enjoy of the beautiful dancing, singing, story of Christ at Luz de las Naciones... While there Elia started talking a lot more (thats also cause she hung out with her cousin Lani who is barely 2 but can talk your ear off) Elia learned everyones name in my family- Abuela- more like buela, Opa, Malcolm, Jony, Maryanne, Noe, Seba (everytime she see's him she says "que te pasa") Lani, Kati (for katie) and Rachel, I have noticed she is really good with names. Just yesterday she started saying Hudson (Danny's cousin's son, who she doesn't see very often).
For a couple months now she always tells me when she's gone to the bathroom "mami pipi or mami popos" but of course it is always after the fact, but at least she recognizes it so hopefully that will come in handy when I start potty training her. Her new thing to say is "mami vamos a casa"- she will say it if we are out running errands or at home- seems to me she might be a home body. Anyway, in the end we had a fun trip out to Utah and Elia keeps me entertained with her fun little personality.

Catching up
I am sorry to all those who have check my blog (if there are any left) and there hasn't been an update... well here it is finally...Since the last time I blogged, the last weekend of Sept we were able to
take a weekend trip to South Lake Tahoe and stay in a Resort there. It
was a nice little getaway and early birthday present for me. I drive
was beautiful up highway 50, but once we came around the
mountain and saw the lake, it was quite breath taking. We enjoyed
relaxing at the resort, pool/hot tub, eating lunch at the lake and hiking on trails where we were able to see bears climbing and
playing in trees not too far from us and see Salmon swim upstream. Elia
enjoyed seeing "los osos y pes", she is a nature/outdoor girl just like her daddy

This is the first time she has ever "posed" for a picture
I think this was Elia's favorite thing of the whole resort-circulating doors
